"Has Barthe Cortes signed a deal with al-Kaddafi? - I asks my interlocutor -"Yes, Kaddafi sent his representatives to Cortes. He really wanted BVC to fly to Libya since, that time, hardly any airline was willing to send planes to this region, and, because of terrorism in Libya, Libyan airlines had very limited possibilities of connecting to the world. What's more, there were economic sanctions imposed on them, so no one uses Libyan airlines as this was unprofitable. Several years later, BC built one of the most modern airports located near Libya and named it after his daughter - Brillarose. This was more or less when the mother of his daughter died in a car accident. "
"When my interlocutor mentions BC' daughter I try to take this opportunity and ask about his private life. He refuses, he does not want to talk about it and justifies himself with loyalty to his ex-boss. Barthe Cortes does not contact the media and is persistent in refusing to give interviews. Currently, he does not even have a spokesperson - this role is played by a lawyer working for BVC who only speaks about issues concerning the company. A photo of Brillarose has appeared in the media twice maybe; sometimes there are rumours about women he dates but no one really knows anything about him - there are only rumours and third party stories. He is one of the most private guy in Africa. The media in Africa are much more quiet than in Europe or the USA. I'm not sure he would be able to keep his privacy the way he does here if he lived and did business in other continent. The conversations I had with people from Cortes' surroundings when I was writing this article did not help me to understand why he avoid the media so much. A year ago, he won a trial against the press - since then, his image can only be made public on special occasions. (*editor's note: the author of the photos would like to remain anonymous. In the photos (cover and images in magazine), you can see BC playing basketball with BVC staff ))"
"An image and investment specialist - Thomas Show- claims that if Barthe Cortes decides to become the media person and known to many people he will get to the ranking of the top 50 biggest stars of African show business published by Forbes easily. He has everything one needs in this market - he is relatively young, handsome, very rich and live on the edge. Thomas Show reveals that Redbull representatives for African market were interested in Cortes. They wanted him to star in the series of commercials showing people living extreme lives, at the limits of human endurance. "As far as I know, BC put them off; he didn't even respond to their proposal" - Thomas Show adds."ON THE BASIS OF : AFRICAN MAGAZINE
