- Why do you wish to keep your name and surname secret and instead use initials that reveal you?
- I think it will be better, those who know it - know it, who doesn't, let it leave like that.
- Tell me your story, how did you meet "BC"?- The first time I met BC was at the airport in Freetown, I was to take him for a meeting with my boss - Bockarie, aka general Mosquito, who could hardly read but was famous for kidnapping children and bringing them up as murderers. He was also the leader of RUF that wanted to spread revolution all over Africa, but soon became only the army without any ideology, and RUF's only aim became control over diamond fields. Bockarie was perceived by his soldiers a sort of Nelson Mandela, but he believed he was God's messenger.
- Did you know who BC was?- I only knew that BC wanted to buy diamonds in return for weapon, so for Bockarie's most desired currency. That wasn't strange at all to me, I had worked for Bockarie for some time and often contacted him with clients of that sort. I never speculated who they were, where from, they were from all over the world, sometimes money for diamonds sold to Israel funded Muslim terrorist originations. No one cared as long as diamonds and arms were supplied.
The travel from the capital to Kono took several hours, through the jungle and along that what left after roads devastated with explosives. That's strange but I still don't know how old BC is, at the time I believed we were more or less at the same age, that was some 15 years ago and I was 25. He was perfectly aware of all what was going on all around. Was laid-back, confident, but what made him somehow special was that he drank little, while we drank seas of alcohol at the time. During the first travel to Kono I thought that was fine talking to him, I liked him, every day I was among people that couldn't read, write, and BC was brilliant, I could talk to him, and he was at my age. Now I know that he made friends with me 'cos I was a perfect source of information for him, I supplied gun to RUF, carried diamonds to Antwerp, I was Bah's friend - an important person in RUF, I operated his phone and fax. I knew about everything, knew everyone, but I still think that BC truly liked me, though then I didn't have the slightest idea he was a gunrunner. I just thought he worked for intelligence service, that was his trade and had to get a reliable source of information, I seemed to him the right person for that.
